The first thing that comes to mind whenever the term “gladiator era” is mentioned to me are epic movies like Troy and The Gladiator. Similarly, whenever I hear the word “romantasy”, the first thing I think of is a high fantasy setting much like in Sarah J Maas’ iconic Throne of Glass series. Well, at least I did.
Trial of Bronze and Blood by indie author M. K. Deoradhan kinda broke me out of the above mold by shoving me into a gladiator-like world filled with the plot twists, drama, and all the spice I’d previously only mostly read in high fantasy settings. Don’t forget, I’m still very much a Romantasy baby - slowly building up my TBR list. This highly entertaining book had me taking notes like Charlie Day and his conspiracy theory board in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and maybe even screaming about a completely accurate thing that happens in the book around the house, just to get confused looks from my family.
You can check out my little chat with Trial of Bronze and Blood author, M. K. Deoradhan, below and take a peek behind the curtains at her journey with publishing TOBAB and the fun that comes with it.
Trial of Bronze and Blood comes out on April 15th and can be pre-ordered on KindleUnlimited, Kindle, and Audible at this time.
