Ok, maybe we do need the Mandalorian and Grogu movie

Before I begin my little rant, I'd like to remind everyone that it's not only okay but also healthy to admit when you change your mind about something. Food for thought.
Back when The Madalorian and Grogu movie was announced last year, I seemed to have developed an allergy to the thought of what should have been a fourth and final season (even though season 3 could have been it, honestly) becoming a thing for the sake of profit. I hated it. "We don't need a Mando movie," I kept repeating in increasingly crankier tones. "They're gonna turn it into The Walking Dead and it's going to ruin a great show, they're gonna ruin Grogu," I reasoned with my feelings.
But then, on this fateful morning, I happened to witness the footage shown at the currently ongoing Star Wars Celebration event in Japan.
The Mandalorian and Grogu movie footage
Remember how we all felt as we watched Darth Vader light up his saber onboard Leia's Rebel ship, the Tantive IV, and just started shredding those Rebel guards to pieces in Rogue One? How he made his way through the ship offing everyone who dared cross his path? Imagine a scene like that, but with Din Djarin. We see Din make his way through Stormtroopers like they're nothing while inside an AT-AT, ultimately destroying it before gloriously flying away with Grogu in tow.
We see a few more actions shots - including mister Grogu swimming and trying to steal snacks from the legendary Sigourney Weaver, who's joining the Mandalorian universe with a mysterious character. We see a snow-covered planet (hopefully not Hoth? I mean, there are other planets out there in the SW universe), Grogu using the Force to dismantle a droid, and plenty of snippets that promise a whole lot of action and entertainment.
Though the footage hasn't been publicly released yet, here's the brand new trailer that was dropped:
Dear Disney, I was wrong. We do need a Mandalorian and Grogu movie.
So this is where my apology comes in.
After watching the trailer and the snippets, there's still a story to tell to tie up loose ends in Din Djarin and Grogu's story, and I'm hoping this won't be just a mere attempt at a cash grab by giving us more cute, tiny, babbling little alien and Daddy Pedro. As a fan first, I know how easy it is to turn your nose up and say no to any kind of new thing within the fandom, but I think it's safe to say that this franchise is going through a major moment of rediscovery and retellings, and that's healthy. Especially for a franchise as iconic, protected, and loved as Star Wars.
So, I'm sorry.
My point is, don't be like me and quickly dismiss ideas (or, in this case, movies) until you've seen them. And, until I do see it, I'll remain optimistic and ever-so-obsessed with Grogu.
